Investing in Patient Care

Henry Ford Allegiance Health is proud to provide the communities we serve with the highest-quality care, expert clinicians, and the most advanced technology. Our centennial year brought the culmination of significant construction projects along with exciting advancements in technology and innovation that inspired us to renew our commitment to providing exceptional care in the years ahead.

West Tower

Henry Ford Allegiance Health celebrated its centennial year with a grand opening of the completed “West Tower.” The three-story, 59,000 square-foot expansion added 66 private rooms and allows for private rooms across the entire hospital—providing patients with a more quiet healing environment for a truly patient-centered experience. This $45M investment in the health system and community is a fitting way to begin our next 100 years of service.

Spacious Universal Suites allow patients to remain in the same room and have the same care team for their entire stay. In-room testing and other services also reduce a patient’s need to be moved. Not only is this more convenient for patients and their families, the Universal Suite model promotes consistency of care, has proven to be safer for patients and may decrease the length of their hospital stay.

Center for Health Innovation & Education

The Center for Health Innovation & Education is one more way we honor our commitment to making sure our community has access to health care providers who are educated in the latest medical technologies and practices.

The two-story addition to the Charles Anderson Building opened in 2018, making it possible for forward-thinking residents, experienced physicians, nurses, technicians and students to embrace a new era in health care education and research. At the heart of the Center is a simulation (SIM) laboratory that looks and feels like actual inpatient and outpatient settings. The SIM Lab provides a controlled environment where individuals and teams can practice on computerized mannequins and refine the latest techniques without risk to patients.

Patient and Customer Centered Renovation

Also beginning in 2019, Henry Ford Allegiance Health will expand the front entrance and lobby of the hospital to make it easier for patients, families and visitors to navigate the hospital’s expanding structure. The renovation will begin in the spring of 2019 and will take about 18 months to complete.

Enhancements from the renovation will include:

  • Open, two-story atrium to allow for natural light
  • Walkway wrapping around the outside wall of the hospital to guide guests
  • Three-lane drop-off/pick-up area with a transparent outdoor cover
  • Clear approach when entering the hospital complex to make finding the entrance easier
  • Expanded coffee shop to better welcome and serve guests
  • Side-by-side Lobby Gift Shop and outpatient pharmacy for greater convenience
  • Enhanced security features for improved safety
